Near the end of the School half term

It is almost the end of half term and feel tired and slept in this morning which I haven't done in a long time but wanted to take a break from my laptop and feel good in doing so. My mind was buzzing and was feeling overwhelmed and so needed the break.

My cousin came down to take his boys to London and to the museums and my brother with his wife and girls visited too and it was good to get together as we all live in different places in the UK so when we do it is always good fun.

I have my radio show tonight and getting that inner nerves and anxious about it and do enjoy it but it is will I get it right and just take my time and chill out a bit more.

The weekend is going to be a chilled one and then it is back to school week, so will be getting back to normal and gonna do a reset to catch up on todays list and make sure my son is ready as he has swimming again on a Tuesday and at Afterschool club, and got an appointment in Kingston.

There is also the Epsom Derby weekend and as I live in Epsom and in Wimbledon, it will be super busy and so going to go out in the morning and stay indoors. It is a good event to go to, and my last one was when I was pregnant with my son and it was good but was tired a lot and so headed back home, and on Friday today, is Ladies Day, something I have always wanted to go to.

I know horse racing is not for everyone but I love it and seen many bands at the racecourse and has been good and would recommend.

It is Fish n Chips tonight being Friday and then going for breakfast morning as it is my husband's birthday and then just chill.

So I hope you have a good weekend and I will be blogging more at the weekend in the week ahead so see you then.

Many thanks for reading,

Getting my life together

What a weekend! Welcome to my daily blog, if you are new then this is my daily blog where I talk about Random topics and my feelings and thoughts. This can be parenting, managing life and getting the most out of life.

I am in Wimbledon and will be until next Friday and got a good week ahead. We have a family gathering and my son goes to his holiday club and I will be if it doesn't rain read my book in the park and check out the Charity shops as I am after some denim shorts, a pair of jeans and Khaki shorts so going to have a look.

There will be more blogs for my Life Coaching programme. I've been posting a blog for it every Tuesday and then I post my vlogs on Wednesday, videos for my life coaching programme on a Thursday and video for my channel Financial Living on a Friday.

Check out my Pinterest where you can find all my content along with Facebook and Twitter Typical London Gal (thetypicalLondongal) - Profile | Pinterest The Typical London Gal (@Carrie82434764) / X Typicallondongal | Facebook

I am up early on Bank Holiday Monday and my time to do a bit of work and get bits done before my son wants to go down stairs.

I like using this time to edit my book, watch some Youtube and do some of my Life Coaching course.

If you want to check out my blog Organize4thebetter then do I talk a lot about time as I am not organized and do get it wrong sometimes but that is what helps me to be organized. I share tips on organizing for the school holidays being a parent myself and don't need another set of holidays to get over it because entertaining kids can be tricky.

There are times where things don't go to plan but that is life and the one thing I have taken more care of is self criticism and self acceptance that I will get things wrong, and as long as it is not life threatening then it is okay.

When doing my radio show Friday, I am doing now almost played the wrong song and not got ready for the news, but I still did the show, I am getting to grips of the order that things need to be in and taking it step by step.

So going to enjoy my day, got a hazelnut latte and want to get more bits done as now it is mid morning and my son has gone to help his Grandpa with sorting the bins out in the school where he works and it is good to have kids do chores and have responsibilities. I write a parenting blog so check out it our here: The parenting adventures | Easy Flexible Parenting (wordpress.com)

The End of the Week

So almost the final day of the Spring term and thankful for the rain to have gone, well in some areas and not gloating but happy because on Thursdays I pick my son up from school, as he has an afterschool club, so I walk there which takes some time but didn't get soaked and it is a lovely walk.

Ashtead

I would recommend you visit Ashtead as there are some really lovely little shops and the village is worth a visit and going to walk there after my son goes to school one day as there are some charity shops that I want to check out, not for entertainment, but I am looking for specific things.

We need more bowls, so looking for a good set, then looking for a pair of trainers that I can wear when walking on treadmill and training indoors.

I am in the look out for sets and dresses for the summer and can be worn throughout the year.

Check my blog site: https://www.carriesversatilefashion.com

This talks about long-lasting fashion that can be worn through all seasons.

Sometimes the prices can be more than a store so I do my homework, but I do love checking them out to see what I can find and have one off items.

I have to pack up today as tomorrow we will be returning to Wimbledon as it is half term and my son is going to a holiday club and so I will be editing my next book, my counselling course, and on my content, and will be filming.

Walking to my sons school is a good route and saw some horses as there is a farm near by and love doing this walk, and he will be going to afterschool after the half term as my son gets so much out of it.

It has been hard to find clubs that cater to his needs for his learning difficulties and have turned him away so it is good that he can continue to have social interaction. He loves other kids and being in a group environment. Not so big but enough she he can play and trying to teach about conversation.

So have a great weekend and will blog more next week.

Getting through life

Today I was fully alive and felt a bit extra tired this morning and was anxious about going out, so the best thing I did was go out, and glad I did as I felt so much better for doing so. I was worried lastnight that Henry may had a tummy bug again, but he was fine.

Rosbery park Epsom one of the places I love to walk

Some say and I felt it too, was that I worry too much and so something I have had to work on.

I hate feeling anxious, and I have written a blog talking about how it helps me, but have mixed beliefs now on that. I have learned how to change it, by changing the anxiety to excitement from listening to Mel Robbins who would get anxiety.

My son wants cuddles as it is the evening and like cuddles and have to make the most of these pleasures, because this won't be forever and that saddens me. It makes me thankful for what and who I have in my life and enjoy each day and face challenging times, that's life.

Everyday doesn't have to be repetitive and so good to do different things and taking opportunities rather than allowing our fear to stand still of what might go wrong. Living like that is never going to help you.

I want each to be as good as the last but life is a mix, but it is how you deal with each challenge or difficult event that comes your way.

I discovered an album of chillout music that I used to have, and found it, here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_lpoK9g6jg&t=1210s

So have a good evening and have more daily blogs to come.

Better to do it now rather than later sometimes

It is Tuesday now and it not as sunny as warm as yesterday so I am having a day indoors and sometimes it is good to just chill at home. I've worked on my book and life coaching course this morning, posted a new blog for my life Coaching blog: https://everyonecanbuildacastle.com/2024/05/21/life-coaching-programme-summer-project-2024-beginning-a-new-chapter-in-your-life/

I've done more of my counselling course, cleaned a pair of my sons trainers and going to sort out the food cupboard and a walk on the treadmill and do a dumbells workout and feel so good to be so productive. This is not everyday as there are days I struggle, but felt fully awake this morning and felt super energized.

I have just done a walk on the treadmill and didn't plan it for it to be this morning just felt like wanted to do it, so I did and sorted out my food cupboard and got to give it a clean.

Cleaning is not my thing but I like to get it done as I like the results and just gone through the food to start and now it is just taking everything off the shelves and clean it.

I like to prep, and save myself time. I like to free up space so I can take a break and not be on my laptop for too long and I use this time to work on my blogs.

Now I have completed everything on my to-dos today, in terms of cleaning and tidying, but got to cut up potatoes for dinner and my sons dinner, got to give his little lordship a bath and hope that I have time to wash my hair and have a good nights sleep ready for another day.

It all systems go.

Please check out my other daily blogs and you can find all my content on Twitter and Pinterest:

Making the most of the weekend

Today it is Saturday and met some new people today and I was nervous because of the first impression. It matters to people, which I respect, when I first meet people I like to know someone first and connection. You don't have to be so formal, when you have a huge group of friends together it can be just what you need as we are naturally social beings its just finding the people you just click with.

Food we had on Saturday that we like to have once in a while with a few drinks

It was good to hear their stories of working on Epsom Hospital Radio and feel a lot better and that everyone has their own way of doing things. If you are in the UK or in St Helier or Epsom hospital then check it out, I currently do Friday evenings 8 to 10pm and this week its going to be songs from movies.

My son was being looked after by my mum and step dad, as he has swimming lessons and took him to see a show at the Polka Theatre, and so my husband and I watched TV and had picky bits instead of a meal and enjoyed it. I like doing different things at the weekend, from what we do in the week.

We watched a film I hadn't seen in years called Baby Boom. This stars Diane Keaton where she is given something from a cousin who passed away and thinks it's money but it turns out to a baby.

It is now Sunday and been up for a while and already prepped for dinner and soon I will be off to a birthday party and then going for a coffee and then it is getting dinner ready.

I am making Toad in the Whole as we have sausages to use up and then it is getting ready for another week.

There is a lot of things to get done, but feel good that my life is taking shape and feel good in that I am near to the life I want and sometimes you have to invest in yourself and make the most of each day as much as possible and not hide away.

I found the hospital job by just checking it out and now I am doing it. Follow your dreams and let your strength to push you forward.

Check out Guildford Spectrum where my sons friend from school had their birthday party. There is swimming, climbing. Ten pin bowling, soft play and even ice skating. I would take Henry there again.

So going to get on, and have to go through my finance, shave my legs as want to wear shorts tomorrow, hoping it is still warm like it is today and wash my hair.

My son first trip away

I am pretty nervous today. My son is off to his first overnight school trip and been packing and getting his stuff ready and pray that it all goes well and that he is safe and enjoys it.

He does suffer with separation anxiety and I have the same for him and so its going to be tough when he doesn't come home tomorrow and that he has everything he needs.

If you have any advice between today and tomorrow or for future trips, then please leave a comment below.

Being a parent you tend, from my own experience to wear you heart on your sleeve, because you want to wrap them up in cotton wool and be cocooned, but you have to let them go and live their own life. It is why I will still read to him before bed and cuddle because these moments won't last forever. The time goes even faster too and forever going through their clothes, selling on eBay or Vinted, because they grow out of so much. We were lucky that I had family who had kids before my son Henry was born, because it saved us a lot of money and now I have clothes and books to sell, and give to someone else's child to get wear and use out of them.

I needed advice so faced timed my mum who gives me so much support, and tomorrow whilst he is away going to fit a new set of curtains and bedding for when he gets back, and hope that he likes it. One of the things he finds hard is change. He likes to wear the same tops and bottoms, carry the same bag and so I hope that he is happy about it and not feel fear, which I think is part of it because he likes routine.

He will be finishing school soon and so will be showing him what he will be taking. He can be lazy and not want to carry his own bag, and so he will need to do it and when he sees the other kids do this give him encouragement to do the same. I have to put his name on labels to make sure he knows to repack it once he has taken out an item. Kids will lose clothes and leave behind something, so will be making sure that there will most of his clothes and stuff that he took with him.

I will be packing him some snacks and a book to read.

The one thing he keeps asking is if he can take is tablet but not sure if they will it and if it goes missing and leaves it behind, mean that will have to buy a new one which not going to deny, can't afford it so, will be a no from me and that the less he takes the less likely he is going to forget to return.

So have a good rest of Tuesday and will be blogging more tomorrow.

What to do when you children unwell

Oh boy what a week. I have missed a few days. My son has been unwell and I have started another Course and so my focus was on that, along side my radio show and with my son not being too good, was making sure he was okay and this weekend, my son had a end of season party at his rugby club and yesterday it was my nieces birthday.

On Thursday I did my walk to my sons school even though it was warm it was the beginning of my son not being well. He was fine when he was playing football at his afterschool club but then waiting for the bus was looking a bit concerned and  on Saturday he said that his head was hurting and I thought he had hit his head when he tried to sit on the bench whilst waiting for the bus on the Thursday and he looked like he was shaking, and I was feeling thirsty, so got my son a bottle of water and myself a Lucozade Sport and had a bit of life back in him but didn't eat his dinner which for my son, is a signal he us bit well.

Now it is Sunday and he ate at my nieces birthday and was playing, but still quiet which is not like him but as brightened up so see how he is.

I just took his temperature and it has gone back to normal, am I being Premature? He did look a lot better today.

That's the issue with the heat, many bugs are easier to pick up. He has gone to school and is a lot perkier today and has his appetite back, so will keep an eye on him and have my phone near by just in case. I have come to believe that it is a parents propagative to worry because we care and our children's health is always top of the list.

Sickness is what helps build their immune system, but it still not nice and is what is the right thing and what is the wrong thing to do. I dread booking appointment with my sons doctors because it is such a long process now. The one item to always have is a thermometer, and check their front of the chest just below the chin and at their back just below the neck.

If it is the heat then make sure they drink plenty of water and something sugary, cooled down with a wipe, sponge or flannel, and not wearing too many layers and put on Suncream and that they are in the shade if possible. Never leave kids in the car when it is boiling hot and have them wear a hat.

Check out this blog I wrote on my Parenting blog: https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com/2023/09/06/kids-and-hot-days/

So see how the day and week pans out, as my son is going on his first every overnight stay on school trip and very apprehensive but been praying that it all goes okay.

Have a good Monday and more blogs to come this week, and if you'd like to be kept up to date with my blogs posts then remember to subscribe.

Grateful for the Bank Holiday

Not posted for a few days had a few other things like my new book to get done and trying to complete some of my other long tasks, such as my Life Coaching course I have been doing, which is almost done.

This week is a short one as we had a bank holiday. We didn't do much, which I wanted and worked on my other blog sites and read. It is good to just take a break from one thing to get other stuff done and working on radio has taken my focus as I like to plan for that at the beginning of the week, and then go through my finances and then get back to other areas of my life when I am ready.

Not sure if this blog is making since. What I am saying is that in order to get things done often, you often need to take a break from other areas of your life to help get stuff done, to then go back to other jobs you have taken a break from.

I am feeling super tired and struggling to continue this blog. My son and I are suffering with Hayfever and I went bed really early, about 7:15pm, but did me know favours. Now my son has been picked up from school I am going to edit a vlog, then got an Induction to do another course and then going to start on it and continue to vlog for this week.

It is good to have had the bank holiday and just chill. The weather on Saturday the weather was good and went for a nice meal with my family, then Sunday overcast but not too bad, but Monday not the best in terms of the weather, but still grateful for it.

Not had my coffee just yet but will be doing so, I am using ASDA's own blend, which is going to last me for a while. I did fancy a iced latte but then saw the bus I need to get on to go back indoors was there and so settled for a coffee indoors.

I popped into B&M yesterday and at first I felt unimpressed when it first opened in Epsom but looking their yesterday I actually like the store and so going to do a shop in there and pick up some bits, and liked the shoes they had, and so check out B&M as they do have some real mix of goodies on offer and could be where I shop regularly now.

Anyway I am going to get on with my day and will blog more tomorrow.

Having fun at the weekend

So it is a Bank Holiday weekend and so far it has been really good. I went out for a meal with family in a pub called the Cricketers and they have park for kids there and was super busy but my brother had booked a table and been a while so was enjoyable. The food took ages to come out but it was alright. I had Chargrilled Chicken with bacon and cheese but wasn't keen on the cheese.

One of my books currently reading

Nevertheless, it was nice to go out and I like doing different things when it is a bank holiday. This morning I bought my mum and step dad to Pauls coffee shop up to Wimbledon Village and was nice and the weather was superb, and then my son got his hair cut and now we are in Epsom and think we are going to stop in tomorrow Monday.

My son keeps jumping on me as he is watching the rugby with his dad, who is cooking a roast dinner.

I am tempted to get in my PJ's but going to wait and catch up on a bit of Youtube and just took a bit of break to read.

Reading for me is essential for me, as it just a break from my laptop and TV and find it so relaxing.

If you like book reviews then check out my site:

I have gone through my finances which was my last task for the weekend to do, and planned for the week ahead.

It is good to sit down and go through my calendar, to make sure I complete all my tasks and that I not doing catch up, but have a good productive week.

Please remember that Mondays I post my Cheat Sheets on Everyone can build a caste, and The Parenting Adventures Tips and Tricks.  and I am doing my Life Coaching Programme Summer Project and will be posting a new blog and Please check my Pinterest board: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/thetypicalLondongal/summer-project-2024/

What I have been up to

Unusual for me to write a post on a Saturday but missed two days, as I was doing errands that I needed to focus on and so my daily blogs had to take a back seat. I am now working on Fridays working for Epsom hospital radio station from 8 to 10pm and was feeling pretty tired this morning, but wanted to catch up on my daily blogs and share this news.

Image of my walk through Ashtead picking up my son after school

It is going really well. I made a few errors but all was fine. Sometimes you need to make mistakes, that's how we all learn.

I voted in the by election, but thought it was a general election, but glad I still voted, sent off a passport renewal and picked up prescription, and had a few appointments and so ran out of the time, but more blogs to come.

If you didn't know my Life Coaching programme "Summer Project 2024" has begun and so you can check this out by going to my site: https://www.everyonecanbuildacastle.com

I filmed a video of my other channel, called:

It was about How you can get things for free if you look around, like using outside gyms and walking and running outdoors rather than being a member at a gym, and speak to friends to see if they have fitness equipment they don't use.

We last year managed to pick up free tickets to watch a rugby league match and it was great. It can be luck but it also doing a bit of research. Be aware of fraud though, like concert tickets.

Please remember I create free Cheat Sheets each week on my site above everyone can build a castle and on my site The Parenting Adventures tips and tricks

Learning everyday

Hello it is the 1st of May 2024 and today I launched my Life Coaching programme "Summer Project 2024", please check out my site: http://everyonecanbuildacastle.com

Please check out the video I made today on my Educational Youtube Channel: https://youtu.be/9ohaKdBmL6s

I also posted a new Vlog: https://youtu.be/fmKqOrLBVwY

My printable for my Life Coaching programme you can find this on Everyone can build a castle.

Today I felt so energized and will be doing a new course and it is good to keep updating my knowledge of the topics I am interesting it, to help towards new opportunities. I love learning because I find it refreshing. I find it opens up the creative part of the brain.

Reading is a great tool. I like to read a range of books from historic, to biographies and chick flicks.

I do have a site that you should check out: https://wordpress.com/home/mybooksandstories.wordpress.com

It is helps with my future self and the books I want to write.

To write you need to read. Even if you have a learning difficulty. Henry Wickler was dyslectic, and remember listening to his story as he has written books himself. If you want to do something you'll always find away. You don't even have to do a course, you can train yourself. I use Youtube to learn, books and reading other peoples blogs.

I learn from my son. I learn from watching TV, and listening to Podcasts.

The brain needs stimulation, as we can get bored so I make sure I educate myself each day to stop this from happening and can open a lot of doors to opportunities, and address your fears and take on challenges.

We learn from making mistakes and accidents. Life is about learning to help us be happy and encourage yourself to seize the day and get out off our comfort zone to follow our dreams, and is why I have developed my Life Coaching Programme to help you do that.

So lets learn together, so we can grow and teach ourselves.
