Celebrating Halloween

I am not sure if I will be able to post many blogs this week due to my son having another week of for half term, but will do my best. That is all you can do when you have different priorities. Tomorrow we are off to Morden Hall so my son can look around the aquarium and then travel by bus and just enjoy the time me and my son have together and got to get a few things, before the end of tomorrow.

It is birthday season for me and so organising presents and got to buy my son some birthday gifts and buy cards.

I took my son to go trickle treating and got some sweets and many kids out doing the same and love a the decoration and the effort people had made for this years Halloween, and it is good to celebrate these occasions with your kids. When it comes to kids you got to feel their life of memories and fun, as before you know it they aren't kids anymore.

I loved it as a kid hanging out with family and celebrating these occasions and talking to my mum apparently I did do trickle Treating when I lived on a housing estate but don't remember. It is so strange and I do have a good memory but no, but I do remember going to a birthday party because one of my friends at school birthday landed on the same day along with her mum, and would play music statues and pass the parcel, and many more old fashioned games, but were fun and nobody thought anything of it.

These days you do have to be careful, and so when doing trickle treating we went to those houses you had Halloween decorations up and just went around the block, and it was fun and glad it wasn't super cold.

So how was you Halloween and next bonfire night.

Making a difference to others and how to still have Halloween

It soon to be Halloween and bonfire night and Henry, my son has his outfit and can't wait to take photos with him in it and with the prices of things going up on things, it is going to make it hard for many to celebrate.

There is a Halloween Funfair local to me but finding hard to find details of it, and if you need to book, as it is important to have my son experience this seasonal days. Yet it depends on price. I am no way going to spend a fortune, and budgeting is important because it helps business to see that lifting the price on things means struggles for many families and hope this can be stopped as we going to need support more families in poverty and affects everyone.

When it comes to these holidays I do like to acknowledge them because since a kid it was ones that I enjoyed and it good for kids to have fun and know about it too.

Even if there is only a few of you, you can still have a party and have people bring some food and drink with them, and have a kitty one thing my friends used to do when going out around these holiday events.

I have seen that many stores are going, like in Epson H&M have stores have gone from many shopping malls and high streets, and this can have a massive effect because it is getting resources, and I remember brother wanting to be Robin Hood at a fancy dress competition and my mum made a costume out of tissue paper and he won.

Then there is Christmas on the horizon and I really want to take bits to a food bank to support other families especially for this time of year and do what I can to reach out to those in need and I can make a difference to their lives.

So I think we need to unite and support one another. As we are living creatures and have ability to get people out of financial troubles.

What my week looks like/my weekly routine

It is Thursday and I keep thinking that yesterday was Thursday. By this day I am always extra tired as a travel a lot each day and really catches up with me. I really want to get my next book finished, and that is my book Mum&Me, and do today and tomorrow I am going to focus on this. I do believe that you should focus on one thing at a time, and have to remind myself of that.

I like to have a lot of things to do, and like going over mt lists to go through what I have completed and yes I can feel bogged down but when I get good feedback it means the world to me, and I do believe that hard work can pay off and you just got to keep going, taking breaks in between, but things that makes you want to be awake and I enjoy creating my blogs and books I am writing and sharing.

When it comes to the end Thursday I want to wrap up my day and take it a little slower and blend into the weekend. Then Friday I want to take it even easier and is the day I concentrate to complete tasks and do a reset and then Saturday I can have a day off and spend a day with my son doing lots of activities.

I like Sunday to do reset and have a tidy up and prep for the week ahead, and this week my son is off for half term, but will spending time with his dad for the first 3 days and so will be getting bits finished and want to begin filming my gift guides as I do have many birthdays and because yes, Christmas is not far away and want to be somewhat organized.

So it soon will be a new week and this week ahead is half term but do get two days to myself and so going to use that time to be productive and have a bit of alone time, just doing things I enjoy like watching some podcasts as I am really getting into that and love listening to Diary of a CEO and Vern Cotton, and Mel Robbins is also doing a podcast now and am listening to one of books on audible, the High 5 Habit.

So I hope you have a good half term and there will be more blogs to come.

Taking on a hobby

Today I went to see Henry, my son do his horse riding, and I did take pictures, but because the protection of the other children there, not going to share, out of respect, for the other children, and for safety reasons.

It is good to have a hobby as a kid and I did write a blog and did a video talking about it: https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com/2021/06/07/truth-about-parenting-having-a-hobby/

These lessons are taken by his school, but would like to do lessons out of school, so going to put him on the waiting list.

I used to have hobbies like dancing and was something I looked forward to each week, and it can really help meet new people, and form new relationships, and lead to more opportunities. I joined a singing club when working in Hammersmith and went once a week, but because I got a job working at a Holiday Camp had to give it up, but was really good fun.

For some people like when I did dancing had to pay to do it, but you can do hobbies that cost nothing, like going for trial walks or running, dancing in the living room learning a routine via Youtube, I have done this when looking for workouts I could do indoors, bake a cake of course you need ingredients but use already cake mixes. Some may frown on this, as I suppose it is cheating, but do something you and your family can enjoy, and cooking a recipe from scratch with your kids, can help with fussy eaters.

I think learning new skills is great for the mind and feelings and helps to get in touch with the world, and it can really help with your confidence.

My brother used to play football and now plays rugby. I did charity runs and walks and want to get back into doing that next year, as they such fun and good for Adrenalin and again confidence. Getting the medal at the end is worth it and raising money for good causes, and you can strangers cheering you on.

So, what hobbies do you do? Leave a comment below as if you know of some good runs and fitness classes please recommend, it will mean a lot.

Productive day and week

Coming to the end of the week, and this week I have been sorting my book Mum&me and is getting another edit, and aiming to get it done by next week, but will see how it goes.

When it comes to writing a book for me, it is having a good attention to detail and making sure that those who read  it enjoy it and be able to easily read it and with Mum&Me is a comedy novel, so want it to be a good read with a cup of tea or coffee, or even a glass of wine.

It isn't an easy task to write a book, but I love it and so every element of a book counts in my opinion from writing to publishing it, and want it be a book that those who read it can relate to it, and yes so I will keep you posted and let you know once the final edit has been done and up and published to be read, and enjoyed.

I filmed and uploaded a new Skincare video and it has been a while, because I take my time in using Skincare products, but I do love doing these videos, because I like to watch these types of videos and really enjoyed sharing. I love Skincare and it to me is a luxury and like to try different types and is low end skincare a lot of the time, but to me it isn't so much about the price but the quality and how it feels on my skin.

Today I filmed a Truth about parenting, talking about feeling anxious after having a baby and was inspired by watching a video on Youtube, who is Gemma Louise Miles, who does a lot of Week in a life videos and she was talking about it and want to let people know it is normal and that its not an unknown feeling after having a baby. You can't underestimate having a baby as it comes with all sorts of feelings and so it is about getting to know your baby and learn how to be a parent.

That is going to go up tomorrow and I am off to the theatre on Saturday and so going to film a weekend in a life and see what I can show, as it is for my nieces birthday and so looking forward to it and Sunday I have a day to myself so going to make the most of it, run errands and working on my book Mum and me and would like to complete the last edit on Sunday, so I will keep you posted.

So have a good rest of the week and will try and write on this blog as it says daily.

So many thanks for reading,

Mental health awareness and taking to steps to control mental health and building a happier life

This week it is Mental Health awareness week and being someone who has mental health problems, such as Anxiety and psychosis, I am glad that people are getting to understand and how to help someone you know has a Mental Health condition.

Just to say I am fine and got to grips with it and doing different things like having a good routine to handle it and not allow it to grab hold of me, like it has done and I do take medication too, but getting to the point I know I don't need home help. I was being seen by Surrey Intervention team and Merton, which is the borough I live in now.

The steps I have taken is make sure sleep well, lastnight I struggled because I went out for a meal and was good fun, but when drinking alcohol and didn't drink a lot, can effect my sleep but I am ok with that, as I know I can catch up on sleep tonight and have a early night, and going out with friends and family can make a difference. It is good to have a routine but it also important to have fun.

I used the time where I couldn't sleep to work on editing my book, as I have a new book that I had published, but took down as it needed editing more and want when get to read it, get so much out of it, and have a good laugh and get their monies worth.

Organizing and sorting through areas of your life and I am still doing an Autumn Reset I have been sharing that helps me, so I have more abundance, and to move with my life by letting things that make me unhappy go and concentrate on things that make me happy.

Happiness is can be found and finding a way to lower the habit of worrying and educate yourself over your mental health and what triggers you get and how to control them.

I wrote a blog this week on my site: Everyone can build a castle, on letting things go, and that is something that has become a regular habit and I feel so good afterwards, and focus on working on my mind and understanding it, so I can continue to build happiness and not feel dubious about my life and where it is heading and what is affecting it.

Find a happy place and find a happy song, and fine a happy picture and a happy exercise routine and a happy person that you have a good connection with and look forward to talking too and talk to yourself, when the triggers of mental health start to show it self again.

It has come and go, but now in a place where I can manage it and help live a happier life and get as much out of life, than ever before.

So, let work together on Mental Health and help those who you know have issues like you and work together in getting better.

Sorting out my clothes

So it is Sunday and another weekend almost over, and today I have been doing more of a reset for autumn, trying to have my clothes organized, and my wardrobe in my bedroom has all the clothes I want to wear this week or even two weeks worth.

It just came to me and so every Sunday I am going to plan my wardrobe for the week, and I have enough clothes now for the Autumn and all year round, so gonna not buy anything else. I fear as a write this, that I am going backtrack, and be tempted to buy more.

I love what I have in my wardrobe and got a few more bits coming, but going to make those my last items of this year. I do have tights I want to buy, but in terms of dresses, tops, trousers and skirts, I have enough.

When it comes to a wardrobe I like it to be functional like my desk I have in my bedroom and don't have to search for stuff but I right where I can grab and put back in its rightful place. So going to get the most out of my clothes, and will report back on how it is going. I feel this could be the new habit of the year. I talk a lot about habits, especially on my blog site, everyonecanbuildacastle.com

It is good to have good habits, because it helps shape your life in a way that is less stressful, as I can stress out, and worrying about not having enough to wear, was one of them for me. I do believe in having a Capsule wardrobe and feel I have that now.

I love clothes and do get easily tempted, and so I tell myself, following Kate Kaden, and that is to say each morning or day, "I have enough" and I do.

So what you going to sort out, let me know in the comments below.

Getting outdoors and walking, how I love it so much

It is the beginning of a new week and today I did a long walk and feel tired now. I am drinking my first coffee of the day and feeling I need it as feeling the fatigue but I did enjoy my walk. I want to do more and so going to make an effort of doing some more walking and it will help save me money on travel, worrying about my weight and so good to get outdoors and exploring.

The weekend me and my son did a walk and went to our favourite park and had lunch, then he played on the swings and fed the ducks and it felt so good to get out and as the weather was good I felt there was no excuse not to go outdoors.

When it comes to walking its completely free and can be done anywhere and you can start when you want to. I am thinking about using a gym again, but you can't beat going for a walk. I find it is when I am the most productive and allow my legs go where they want to, and tomorrow going to do some more.

Getting outdoors can be a task when your children decide they don't want to get dressed, but once we are out everything okay again.

It doesn't need to be long walking, but just getting out and enjoy having a game of football too, has helped me stay fit. Just thinking about this makes me laugh as you should see us play, as I'm often not allowed to score and he takes all the throw ins and if it is a free kick I get told to get into the goal.

Often there is role reversal, where he's in charge and I am the child, and laugh a lot. Finding a good time to do walking you don't need to, just make into a regular habit, and then you will be walking a lot and great for your bones and wellbeing.

So get those shoes on and just let the world be yours and let it bit a weekly thing if not daily and plan your walks, and enjoy it.
