Reflecting on 2020

As with all of the years I have lived from when I could remember I liked to reflect on it, and as I sit here in my room singing to songs I can't believe it is nearly the end. I have been targetted something wrotten and thought that my life would come to an end.

This is a feeling I never want to experience again and it has made me see that I am strong-willed, and I can fight and stay strong.

The year started off quite dark for me and I look back and think "How did I get through that?".

I am listening to great record, of Sir Rod Stewart and the wonderful Rock Queen, Tina Turner, "It Takes two", and if you have never seen the video of this where they are performing in a concert than watch it.

I think after what this year has done, pulled people apart there should be a End of Covid concert and if Tina Turner would come back from retirement for a day have them sing this live, as it is one of the best duets put together.

I love reflecting on a year whilst listening to music as it is the best therapy along with laughter you can have in your life and the songs like "Nothing gonna stop us now", by starship, should be the theme tune for the of this year 2020, because it is amazing as soon as we went into Lockdown how people still pulled together and peformed songs, plays and endless videos of real life, and wrote blogs and books still, that we never felt alone even though some of us were.

This Christmas was going to slightly different as there weren't much Turkey being exported and looked like my idea of having a chinese for Christmas could have actually come true. Yet I bet some may say this has COVID too, as China seems to be getting the blame for Coronovirus.

I say whilst we are still in Lockdown to keep making home Youtube videos and lets have some comedians making videos too, aswell as more actors and singers, plus those who like to make Day in a life ones, which I want to make too. When I do I will let you know.

So lets try and end the year on a high and lets see what 2021 brings.

What you want out of Life

Hello and welcome to another Weekly Newsletter post. On my Thoughts and Advise for this week I talking about What you want out of Life.

If you have had turbulent year like me then it is literally 13 days to go till we are at the end of another year to get ready for a new year.

Life is about living the best life and I talk a lot about this on my Wordpress site:

https://everyonecanbuildacastle.com

Get inspired and create your vision board for next year. I am going to do this once I have finished writing my blog posts due today and for the weekend too.

A vision is a dream and to make it true ask yourself, is there one thing I can do today that will help me towards the life I dream of? It may be having good declutter before Christmas rather than wait until the end of the year, or finishing a home project you have been working on.

Are there things in your life that you no longer care for?

I have had a good clear out this year of people that pretended to be my friends but weren't. I moved away from my home in Epsom as I wanted a new life during COVID 19, and there are more changes on the horizon.

I lived with a man who was obssesed with cleaning, and I didn't want that in my life anymore. I was seen as a slave, which I resented an awful lot and know that I was worth more than that.

What you want out of life is up to you, and just because we have been in Lockdown this year like no other year doesn't mean you should give up your ambitions and goals. It should make you more determind.

Is there an element of your life you want to keep that will support you in the next chapter of your life?

I am loving working at home doing my blogs, so I am going to stick with it and continue to grow my audience, and I want to keep rebuilding my Youtube channel, and talk to the camera again. Check out my Building Self confidence post I have written talking about this:

http://buildingselfconfidencetud.blogspot.com/

I have a lot happening next year, and so I will talk more of this as we get nearer to the new year, and what's to come. I would like time to watch a film or some TV, so I am definitely going to make time for this in my daily and weekly life.

Being a fulltime writer of blogs and books can take its toll and so it is important for me and my sanity to have some time out from writing on some days, and do different things each week, aswell as repetitive things.

It good to have a variety in your life and so being flexible is often a good trait as you can stop with doing to do lists for some days and have free choice days. These can involve anything that makes you relax and chill for a bit.

So I will be back next week with another weekly Newsletter post, but until then I wish you a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New year.

Many thanks for reading,

Looking Ahead towards Christmas

Hello and welcome to a new, Weekly Newsletter post.

This post I am talking about, looking ahead towards Christmas. I do want this year to be a good one, going on the fact, the last one I had was one of the worst.
In

My love of Christmas has returned, please read post I wrote (linked) below:

When I lost my Spark for Christmas.

I have created some new Youtube videos as I am working with Amazon to help their Christmas Campaign for 2020, and so check out the videos I have created so far:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CTMxuvWsQU

Amazon Advent Calendars 2020.
I have selected the Top of the Range ones, and they have loads available and yes I you buy an item from my post, I will receive a Royalty fee for it.

Christmas jumpers at Amazon 2020.
They have tones of fashion items. I have splurged on some and are great value.

Amazon Haul Look Book.
These tops shown are lovely and they have so many different patterns and colours that I will be buying more.
I remember when Amazon sold mainly books, but since those days there are loads of items to choose from.

This video is showing some Gift sets available at Amazon along with some other gifts for Christmas this year.
A gift set is a great way to buy stocking fillers aswell as a whole gift.

I have also started to write a weekly blog, giving some Shopping Ideas on my site Carries Everyday Living, aswell as more posts showing some more bits rom Amazon, and weekly Tea and Biscuits post.

On my site Everyone Can Build A Castle I will be posting a weekly blog, sharing some Inspiring Stories post, along with more posts about getting ready for the new year, 2021.

Please check out my other Google Blog Posts for this week below and there will be more to come as we lead up to the festive season.

Looking ahead, I will be creating a campaign called, Get up, Get ready for the new year 2021, on my site above, Everyone Can Build A Castle.

So I will be getting on with writing more posts due today, and I will be back next week, with a new Weekly Newsletter post.

When A Year Seems So Long

To say this year has seemed so long is an understatement. Many things happened that sent me in a downward spiral through part of it and felt like my life at one point was going to come to an end.

If you find it hard to read these kinds of blogs then I am not offended if you do not wish to read on I just like to talk about it to make people see that those who have felt like this too, aren't alone and you can come out of it, because facing your depression can be a lot harder than it being inside you, because that annoying voice that speaks to you, makes you feel that often there is no way out.

I was a total mess at the start of this year and very suicidal and was talking to people from my passed who were having a nightmare themselves. A few people who I knew from Peabody and from my present life had gone for good, as they were brutally attacked too. I broke my heart a lot.

There will always be times where you feel life is going to get worse and worse and it can be so soul destroying when there are many people who you thought loved you, but they didn't at all and that can really hit you like a knife.

I kept going though and thanks to people whom I had come to admire over the years on TV got in contact with me and have now helped me to get out of that hell hole and carry on doing what I love, being a writer and now doing it as a fulltime career.

Thankfully if all goes well, there are even better things on the horizon coming soon which I will let you know about as they arrive.

Those people including my new love Lee, helped me to stay strong and come alive again.

There is always light at the end of the tunnel and you can get out of a depressive state it just takes time.

Denise Welch has written a book about depression which is called the Unwelcomed Visitor and spotting the triggers and signs of depression. It can be caused by many things and can be a build up to you not wanting to be seen, heard or near anyone.

This book is available from Amazon now if you wish to purchase it via this link:

    Denise Welch The Unwelcomed Visitor

There is a lady who we all knew as Caroline Flack who took her life and it was so sad as she seemed to embrace who she was and what she did. I thought she was such a ray of sunshine and a total shame that someone so lovely and seemed happy, would be found dead and ended her life.

Sadly there are people who want to see someone take their life and they aren't worth the shit they were born with. Sorry if this is harsh but noone, noone should ever destroy someone so much that they want want to commit suicide, but there are.

If you need support and help them there is a brilliant organisation called Mind.org that can provide support and help, I do also have a related site to this one called Everyone Can Build A Castle or you can contact me via the comment section below and I will be happy to listen, as often that is all we want.

Many thanks for reading,

Total Lockdown confusion

Hello and welcome to a new Newsletter blog that I like to post at the end of each week. This blog talking about Total Lockdown confusion:

  1. Are we in Lockdown or not?
  2. Do I want another Lockdown?
  3. Is this going to become the norm now?

Let me answer the first question. I am not sure if there is a lockdown because, not that I want the shops to shut, but everything appears to still be open, and people are still wearing masks and buses are still putting tape across some of the seats, yet they want everyone on the bus to be seated, and so I am not sure where it is at this Lockdown.

I do not want another Lockdown, no! I like being able to travel around on buses, the tube and overground trains without any bother. I want to be able to queue without worrying about being close to someone, but to be honest I never get overly close to someone in the queue in front of me anyway and have always kept my distance.

I have a worrying feeling that this is going to become the norm and more of this is going to happen, over the Festive Period and beyond.

It makes me wonder if they are doing this Lockdown to avoid having to deal with Brexit which should have been dealt over what, 3 year ago now is it? This is why I would like to go into the houses of parliament do what I want an MP to do is tell a dirty joke:

Why was Boris Johnson's wife screaming one night, because he took of his mask and his real personality came alight, and he knows how to pull a decent bird, even though he is creating a one way system in London, which is going to cause so much congestion that he wanted to avoid causing us all to scream "What on earth are you doing?"!

Is Boris going to allow the Queen to do her usual Christmas speech?

Who knows but I bet he'll tell her off, for not wearing a mask when doing so, even though it will be done in her own home.

And don't worry Boris she will apply to the social distancing, doing the speech in one of her many homes. You may not ever be invited to Sandringham or Windsor, you've not earned that status yet, and her homes are big for a reason.

Don't worry your majesty we could all put Boris in the dungeons in the Tower Of London, haven't done so in about 100 years, but there can always be the first one in the 20th Century, and no we won't cut off your head Boris, because that would just get messy.

So lets see what this lockdown will bring and see next week for another Newsletter blog and have a great weekend ahead.

Oh and Boris, please, please no pick pocketing, remember social distancing applies to you too.

I know "It's all in the name of politics".

Finding laughter in the things you do that are unforgettable

Being able to look back on things and laugh is a sign that however much it seemed serious at the time, I can look back and laugh, and see that it was all okay.

I have done some things in my time being only 21 + 20 that could not be made up if you tried. Example, when I once went to the park around from where I lived in Hammersmith and not realising put my hands and knees in dog poo and not just a little bit a huge amount, and had to walk all the way back through my estate, so easily seen, covered in excretion.

Doing my R.E exam I ended up doing the completely wrong section of the examination paper because I didn't understand the Roman numeral numbers, that I think I was only given a grade because I still answered all the questions.

When I went orienteering during a school trip ended up almost going back to London, and getting bored decided to pretend a stick was a javelin and throw it only for it to fall straight back on my head, and one of the kids wrote about it to read in front of the whole school during our last Church Service, in our final year.

When I went on a field trip with my secondary school, wore the wrong coloured jeans, White and of course I fell straight into the mud, and so had to throw my white jeans away, leaving my fellow pupils laughing their heads off.

WHY DID YOU WEAR WHITE JEANS?

When I went to Blackpool I took the lights out because I was throwing a ball and hit the switch that turned them all off, leaving the guy on the stall puzzled and worried of how to turn them all back on.

Once drunk on new years eve, almost fell into a karaoke as I climbed up on a stall and was so drunk I almost fell off, and the guy running the Karaoke panicked and shut it all away, because he thought I was going to fall into it and break it.

When I was a kid I would often get locked in my nans (on my dad side) toilet and couldn't get out.

My nickname at Primary school was Tommy, from Cannon and Ball, as I would wear red braces to hold my skirt up, and this Dinner lady who was proper irish, still called me it 10 years later, would shout across the hall where we had our lunch "Rock on Tommy".

This was due to being bored in the dinner queue, personating Bobby Ball.

The whole school got told off, because a song was made up about our music teacher who had a bald patch, and those that were in the choir, i.e: me forgot one choir practice and sang it again, at which the headmaster came and told us off, and we all mainly me had to apologise to her.

Then we did a school play of Macbeth, at which I played Seyton, and thinking I would get a really cool costume, ended up having to wear a white shirt, black trousers and a potato sack cut up made into a apron. Then one performance of this play, the person who was supposed to be the servant didn't turn up, and so I got grabbed and pushed on to take that role instead, not knowing any of those lines. So the girl who played Macbeth whispered them to me, for me to say them out loud, and then had to instantly change there and then as Seyton.

Basically you have to laugh, and hand ups "My name is Carrie and I am potty" but when you meet me you never forget me, as I will often do things that only clowns, Norman Wisdom or Frank Spencer would do, but are unforgettable, and I like making people laugh it has been what has kept me going and why not?

Life if about living and if you haven't lived and laughed then now is the time.

The School Summer holidays

Thank You Clip Art Microsoft Free Images Clipartly - Clip Art ...

It is literally 11 days until the new school year starts, and I am in a way looking forward to it, as I won't have to stay up late to write my blogs due for the day and I have more hours to get my shit together.

Check out my Wordpress blog The Parenting Adventures tips and tricks, where I talk about Getting ready for the new school year

I have added a few printables in this post I have linked. I would say if you haven't got school yet, to prepare now, order any bits you need and go through what you have already.

The school summer holidays have not been that bad, and it was a relief to have lockdown removed in some places, as Henry (my son) loves being outdoors, and for the sunshine we have had.

Next week my son will be with his dad, so I will start having more time for myself as of next week. I do love my son, of course I do, it's just that I can't always get bits done when he is around, because he wants my attention most of the time.

What I am going to do is create a photobook for him that he can take in to show, of what he did during the school summer holidays.

I am going to begin to plan more as the summer holidays come to a close, as it is better to do ahead of time, rather then two or three days before.

It has been a strange year with the Pandemic that we all have, have to adjust to, but if are reading this blog, we made it and we can get through it.

Thank you to the NHS, you are truly amazing.

Be kept on your toes

Top 10 Tips To Improve Your Child's Personal Safety - Keeping Kids ...

This week if you have read my parenting blog (https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com/) you would have seen that on Monday I had a bit of a scare when I thought for about 5 seconds that my son had gone missing, because as I went to take an item I needed off the shelf he ran out and it was so fast that I had no idea as to where he went, and boy was I worried, and even broke down into tears afterwards, as I have had dreams of this sort of thing and so was my worst nightmare.

I wrote a blog post about what to when your kids run off and go missing, as part of this blog is my sharing my own experiences and kids running off is a common thing when they are little, and so you do have be kept on your toes.

When you can't find them, it reminds you that you can not take your eyes off them for a minute and you are in complete shock and distressed, and when they do return your paranoir can increase as well, that you are on tender hooks afterwards.

In this post I included a printable to help parents with Parenting Dilemmas and how to deal with them. which I have dedicated another parenting blog to, which also has the link to the printable, and it totally free to print off.

When a child goes missing we instantly get a sick feeling in our stomachs and not knowing what to do next. Luckily I had a lovely lady help me and we soon found that my son had returned to the store he had ran out of, and I was shaking with shock and all the what ifs started creeping into my mind.

The worst thing you can do is panic, so take a deep breath and see if anyone can help you look for them. Dressing kids in bright clothing is a fantastic hack because when they are wearing bright coloured clothing they can be easily seen and in my son's case he was.

Having kids with prints on their tops can help too and one hack is put a sticker or a badge on their top so you can use this should you need to give your child's identify.

Also now, and I have mentioned this in my other posts, you can get smartwatches for them to wear and then via an APP you can see where they are exactly, and now my son is into wearing a watch at times may consider in getting one, just in case.

If there is security officers around like there was on Monday, because there was a shopping mall nearby see if they can help because they will have a radio and have other officers around to help search for your child too, and quite often they will have a link to the Police if you need to contact them.

Have your children if they need the toilet go with someone else and they stay together until they return.

If you have more than one child and they are of different ages but can't go to the toilet without support then see if an older sibling or another adult can take them, and if possible separate the kids, and one adult take a few kids in and the other adult takes the other kids in.

Arrange a meeting point so they know should they come out on their own where to wait and meet you.

When I worked at holiday camp in the South Coast, if we ever had a child lost it was a rule that you and another employee would help take them to a meeting point and report the child lost to the security staff who would then call out to see if we can trace that child's parents.

If you run a football team then often you would have more than one child to be responsible for, so this is where it is beneficial to have another parent on board that can help look after the children on the sidelines that aren't playing, and what I used to do is create a substitute area, that was clearly marked out, and they would then continue to have a kicking about and wouldn't go wondering off whilst their teammates were playing.

I know most schools are shut, but some will have summer clubs, so if they do make sure the child is not going home on their own if they are a much older child and that they always walk home if possible with another child. This is more so for when they go back to normal school and it starts getting dark earlier.

If kids are cycling around then make sure they are wearing bright visual clothing, even if they ride on the pavements as it still pays to be safe, as often they may have to still cross a road on their bikes and even scooters.

When running a kids club of any kind and they are young children, make sure that they don't leave the school or club premises until their parent/carer/guardian turns up to pick them up from school, and all doors are kept securely shut until it is time for the children to leave.

Make sure you are aware of the fire safety rules and you keep a register of all the children attending and they know where to go and where to leave should there be a fire.

Always have a first aid kid. Being a football coach this was vital as often than not there would be accidents.

If you are going to a local theme park then there are armbands you can get when going into a theme park, so if they are lost they can be easily identified with their armband. Again, as with the toilet when going on rides if they aren't old enough to go on their own, have another adult take them and for the older kids that can go on rides unaided that you make meeting point beforehand so once they have finished on the ride they know where to go back to.

Often when I go to a park they will usually have a gate, but often than not people will leave it open, which for me as far as I am concerned is careless and not thinking about the other people and children who are also going to use the park. Please keep all gates shut as I have seen it, not just my son but other children wonder out of a park and gone sprinting off, and if there are main roads nearby, it could end easily in the worst case scenario.

If you are near water, make sure if they aren't able to swim unaided that they have armbands or you can get vests which they can use to float with aswell, and do keep an eye on them at all times.

When I was a kid I remember this little boy we knew who went on a camping trip with the scouts and drowned. It was devastating as he was a lovely young boy and had such a future ahead of him but unfortunately it was not to be.

It can happen so never think for a minute it can't and be on your toes because it can happen so quickly. I know that taking kids out should be fun, but you do have to remember to stay safe aswell, and don't take these things for granted.

Let your children know how far they can go, my mum and dad always did this and until I was old enough to be responsible I wasn't allowed near the front of the estate where we lived, because of the busy main road near the estate, and I never ventured near there until I was allowed to.

I have written a book about my years living in Peabody Estate, so if you would like to read it then click here. It is available in Kindle and in paperback.

The Peabody Years

Make it clear to children what their boundaries are and as they become more responsible, then you can allow them more freedom and independence.

Why I love Youtube

Hello and welcome to my newsletter blog of my thoughts and advice for the week, and in today's post I am sharing why I love Youtube.

Well to begin, it is for me easy viewing and brings me so much energy that I have become a lot more productive and less stressed because I know that I am not the only one who for example feels that I am getting my parenting skills all wrong, and that I am only human, and to not always focus on to do lists, but have fun too.

I like it when the videos are non perfect and not fully edited, but real to life and I can relate to.

I think if we could all be like Mrs Hinch for example we would be, if cleaning the house didn't often feel like an endless chore and something to relish on, but for me I like to sit back and not worry about cleaning all the time and do a wordsearch instead or watch endless videos and I like it when those who create videos I like do feel like that too.

I am not a lover of cleaning but I do it because I don't want to live in a pigsty and a messy room, because it can stress you out rather than a clean room, so that is why we do it. I love the fact that since having Youtube in my life I haven't had to buy any music it is all there ready.

I can choose bits of programmes I want to watch like Interviews on daytime TV rather than having to watch the whole show.

I have shared this week in my blog posts of channels I like to watch, please see links to these below:

I do have to control how much Youtube I watch, however I would not live without it and do enjoy watching Youtube than watching TV on occasions.

Please let me know of what you like about Youtube. You can leave a comment below.

How to protect yourself this summer

Group Of Happy Young People Having Fun At The Beach Summer Day ...

Hello and welcome to another Newsletter Weekly blog, where I share my thoughts and advice for the week.

Here are some thoughts and advice of how to protect yourself this summer:

  • If you are visiting some cities in the UK or abroad then keep your belongings safe as now they can pick up your bank card details via special scanner and so keep these tucked in tightly in a bag, and avoid putting items in side or back pockets, because there are pickpockets working around cities
  • As of today it is compulsory in the UK that you must where a face mask when going in and out of shops
  • Carry sanitizer, antibacterial wipes and tissues with you, if you are going to use public toilets and touch handrails as they are full of germs
  • Carry suncream wherever you go, as even when it is breezy you can still get burnt by the sun as it can be deceiving
  • Hack, if going away and you have dirty clothes than take a pillowcase with you to use to store your dirty clothes in and then wash these altogether once you have enough for a load and wash above 40 degrees as this helps to kill germs in clothes
  • Take a first aid kid with you, as kids are prone to accidents and this just helps just in case you need a plaster
  • Don't allow children to drink the water in their baths, showers or swimming pools as the chlorine can cause a child to be sick, plus there are a load of germs in a swimming pool
  • Never leave a kid unattended in a boiling hot car or a pet, as they can easily get too hot and cause serious harm
We all have to play our part in staying safe, and so take responsibility and any litter put into a bag and dispose of once you come across a bin.

How you can still save money aswell as have a good time during the summer holidays

Hello and welcome to another blog where I share my thoughts and advice each week.

In today's post I am talking about how you can still save money aswell as have a good time during the school holidays and still have fun.

So many places will be reopening if they haven't just yet, and as long as you are wearing a face mask when required, then most places you should be okay to go in. The first place I am taking Henry as he spends the weekends with his dad, is Battersea Park.

This park is one of our favourites as there are various playgrounds with swings, climbing frames and slides, you can do the Go Ape adventure park but to do that you do have to pay, along with the kids zoo, however there are plenty of areas to play ball games on or you can sit or walk along the river.

We will also be doing some learning activities on the Oak School, which is an online educational programme where they can do various learning activities at home, and is completely free to use.

Of course we will be doing more outdoors too, but I want to help with Henry's learning ready for when he starts in year 2.

Most buses and train stations accept debit or credit card contactless payment to gain entry and to ride on, and bus is a lot cheaper than the train.

I will be having some days indoors too and do some crafting, drawing and writing, I will be putting a scrapbook together to show pictures and details of what we did in the holidays so he can show this to his teacher and friends when he returns to school.

Then there is swimming and one of the activities on his summer homework sheet is swimming and so I will be taking note of his homework for the summer so we can do as many activities the school has listed on his homework sheet, as possible.

So let me know what you are doing during the summer holidays. You can leave a comment below.

Glad it is Friday

Free Its Friday Cliparts, Download Free Clip Art, Free Clip Art on ...

So glad it's Friday as I don't know about you but I feel somewhat burned out today. This is my third blog written Please see links below of my others two if you would like to read them.

https://buildingselfconfidencetud.blogspot.com/2020/07/aiming-for-better-me.html

https://organize4thebetter.blogspot.com/2020/07/organizing-6-year-old-child.html

Going backward and forwards to do the school run, doing work during school hours and then entertaining my son in the afternoons to the evening can take its toll.

In a weeks time Henry, my son will break up for the summer holidays and I am looking forward to these.

It will mean looking after my son for the whole day but no rushing around like there is when there is no school to go to.

I have decided that I will do a whole plan for each day, to explore and take Henry out to different places.

So I am going to probably sit back now, watch a bit of Youtube and take it a little easier today and I will blog again tomorrow on my other sites listed below. I hope you have good day too and have a super weekend.

Celebrating Son's Week

Hello and welcome to another blog sharing my thoughts and advice for the week.

So apparently it is Son's week and as I have a son, thought I would write about what it is like to have a son.

As my little dude was born premature his birth to me it is a lot more special because of the fact he spent the first part of his life in the hospital until he was strong and big enough to come home.

His birth was very traumatic, because after I would say an easy pregnancy, he was delivered my emergency Caesarean due to his heart rate dropping, and it was discovered that the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, and so was in distress.

Since he was born it has been one heck of a rollercoaster. He can be a typical boy, not being sexist, but super boystraus at times and is full of energy.

He has always been an early riser and rarely sleeps beyond 6am, if he does it is every now and then.

His likes have been quite masculine, such as liking Spongebob squarepants, thomas the tank engine, and has never shown interest in dolls or anything, more boyish toys and games.

The dude can play football all day, and his favourite game which I have mentioned in my parenting blogsite:

https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com/

He loves magnetic darts and watching quiz shows such as Countdown, Tipping Point, Tenable and The Chase.

However as much he can drive me mad some days, he makes it up by giving me lots of cuddles, and has always been a cuddly boy and very sociable.

If you would like to read more stories about my son growing up I write another parenting blog aswell as the one mentioned above called:

When the days aren't so good

Sad Girl Clipart Free

This was so not the blog I wanted to write today, but I feel I must.

There are those days where everything goes smoothly without a glitch and days like today that I'd like to forget.

Today hasn't gone well, to begin with my son decided he would not do as he is told stressing my mum out and then we end up arguing, so we all had the hump at the start of the day, and then picking him up from school, was told that he was hurting other children to the point they were scared of him.

He kicks off because as punishment he couldn't have his tablet or dart board, but then apologises but still kicks off so decided to take him for a walk for some fresh air, if you can call it that with the heat wave we had today, and then I ordered the wrong drink in Cafe Nero, but drank it anyway so it wasn't a waste of money, and just now whilst watching Not Going Out I get a tummy upset after eating an ice cream.

Happy days! NOT!

What would life be like without bad ones, who knows but so glad that, and I hope I am not jinxing this as I say it, finally got Henry to get to bed and go to sleep after second attempt, and now feel like sh*t because of that poxy ice cream.

It was one of those days that even though I had new clothes on I felt overweight and fat, so now I am determined to go for more walks and do more fitness training, I can't seem to get my Mojo or energy to run at the moment, so walking it is, to lose those pounds put on because of the bloody Lockdown, and yes I want to blame lockdown as face it most things are my fault, so nice to blame something else other than myself.

You just have to take some days as they come without planning too much, and as much as I tried to be productive today, like I wrote in my Building Confidence post today,

https://buildingselfconfidencetud.blogspot.com/2020/06/living-more-productive-life-to-help.html

I didn't end up making my bed, instead I got back in it as I just couldn't get any energy this morning after the battle I had this morning to do any writing, so took a nap instead.

However it is the weekend so Henry will be looked after by his father to hopefully give myself a break and be able to have some me time once again.

Who knows what tomorrow may bring but I just hope it is better than today.

I hope you all have a good weekend too and remember to stay safe.

Real Heroes

This week I am talking about Real Heroes those who inspire other people because of their misfortune, to help create a positive outcome.

On Wednesday I watched a programme on BBC 1 called Defying Gravity and it was about this young girl called Lily Rice who does Wheelchair Motocross and how she is using her sport to raise awareness to help others who are in wheelchair to do the same, to help give them a purpose in life too.

I thought it was so inspirational that for me it is people like Lily that are real heroes in our world, even though they may not see it that way. It amazes me that people like Lily have been missed under my radar because it is like "How comes I didn't know about you?" because watching that programme on BBC 1 was such an eye opener to the fact that just because you have a disability you can still do stunts just like those on bikes and scooters, in a wheelchair.

I think it is truly amazing and goes to show that anything is possible, not impossible, it is about determination and drive.

I remember I had a pen friend in Scotland called Sammy and she was such an amazing person, and we became friends through visiting my Uncle who had, had a stroke and she liked Bon Jovi and I sent her some Bon Jovi posters, because she had tried to get some at her local music store but because there were stairs and no lifts she found it hard to gain access to this area to buy one so I bought a few for her and sent them to her.

Her writing was so beautiful that if you didn't know her, you would not have had any idea that she was disabled.

She was so full of life and so happy all the time, that I remember thinking that if she can be happy with her own skin, then so can I.

I think watching this programme gives hope to so many. I remember when I did the Great North Run and there was a guy there doing the run on two sticks and he was so friendly talking to people as he went including myself and then suddenly him and his friends cheered me on as we all carried on doing the 13 mile run.

It was a fantastic boost of confidence and one that I will treasure for ever. When doing these sorts of events like music and sport, it brings so many people together that it restores you faith in mankind.

So I want us to take a moment and think about these kind of people, as they should be given knight hoods and OBE's because of how inspirational they can be.

What I have been able to do during Lockdown

Free Weekend Cliparts, Download Free Clip Art, Free Clip Art on ...

Hello and welcome to another Newsletter blog, sharing my thoughts and advice for the week.

Lockdown is still going for some and others are slowly moving into some sort of normality. I will admit I am getting a little frustrated over it all, and bored of it now.

I know we still have to stay safe and healthy but I just feel like I want to be able to have a meal in McDonalds or order a Chinese takeaway. It is amazing how you miss the little things in life.

The one thing that I have found I have been able to do, is save money and only pick up bits and bobs I really needed.

The other thing I have been able to do is spend time clearing out my emails. I can end up having thousand of emails no lie, and makes me want to avoid looking in my inbox, but having some time out I have been able to search through my emails and go through any emails I no longer need.

I have also been able to catch up on TV and Youtube like I am now whilst I write this blog. I have to have some sort of noise when I write my blogs as I find I get more inspiration that way.

This weekend I am going to take advantage to do some exercise again and see if I can get back to my workout routine.

Let me know what you are planning this weekend by leaving a comment below.

Why I love a double act

Hello and welcome to another newsletter blog, where I share my thoughts and advice for the week.

This week after watching Car Share on BBC 1 I was inspired to write this blog about the famous double act, and why I love them so much.

My favourite double acts were Cannon and Ball and Little and Large, who were massive in the 80's. Sadly Eddie Large died this year, and will be sadly missed, but his partner in crime is still going strong Sid Little along with Cannon and Ball.

Eddie Large and Sid little did a lot of impressions and took the mickey out of famous pop groups like New Kids on the Block.

If you are a fan of Lee Mack's show Not Going Out then you'd know that Bobby Ball plays Lee's Dad in it.

Cannon and Ball did I'm a Celebrity get me out of here, aswell as the Coach trip and most recently performed out in Las Vegas, is the TV programme The Last Laugh in Vegas.

Sid Little and Tommy Cannon have both been contestants in Celebrity Masterchef, and if you have seen the Not Going Out Finale where Lee and Lucy get married, Tommy Cannon played the vicar.

I have loved double acts since I was a kid and would watch endless films with Laurel and Hardy and Abbot and Costello. They are special and the most recent act is of course is Ant and Dec, who have been partners since they were kids and both starred in Biker Grove.

To be a good double act you have to be able to talk through the audience instead of at them and bounce off each other, not literally but in terms of getting the audience involved.

I loved Cannon and Ball because it was so funny seeing Tommy bully bobby and my favourite sketch of there's is when they took the mickey out of West Side Story.

I used to love Christmas time when they had their Christmas show and no one was allowed to murmur otherwise they'd get a dirty look but they were allowed to laugh. I loved the opening titles of Cannon and Ball with the two stars and their theme tune I still love to play today.

Their theme tune just hits me right in the heart and back again, and is memorable that I would get so excited and still now whenever I hear it, and there is an episode of Car Share where they talk about them, and even that made me beam.

I even had the pleasure of going to see them in 1986 in the Pantomime Babes In The Woods at the London Palladium. I thought we had gone in without a ticket and hadn't realised we had actually got tickets, it was only ten years later that I realised it was a surprise and part of my Christmas present that year.

Now they perform in many places now, and still doing their act in front of live audiences, and I still watch their film Boys In Blue, which has a brilliant theme tune to that aswell.

Laurel and Hardy were always getting themselves in trouble, and I good double act will have a catchy tune and often a catch phrase too "That is a fine mess you got me in" Oliver Hardy would bellow Stan Laurel, but they were so lovable that there legacy along with Burt and Ernie and Morecombe and Wise still lives on today.

So who is your favourite double act I would love to hear from you, you can leave a comment below.

Please stay safe and many thanks for reading,

Life and times of Butlins Holiday Camp

Hello and welcome to my weekly newsletter blog sharing my life and times of Butlins Holiday Camp, where I worked from May 2002 to November 2005, in Bognor Regis.

I also met the love of my life there Lee McKillop also known as Lee Mack there and my life has changed so much.

It was my dream since a kid to work at a holiday camp, as my family would make yearly visits to one in Clacton-Upon-Sea in St Osyth's.

I went there to initially join the entertainments department, but ended up working in the Residential Catering Department.

It was a fantastic job and I loved it, especially at night after my evening shift where I would go to Centre stage, Skyline and Jaks.

They are great places to work as you live on site in the staff lines, get meals on site and all entertainment is free, well it was when I worked there. So all you end up paying for really is your drink after your shift is finished.

When working there you would tend to do split shifts, four hours in the morning and four hours in the evening, and then have the evenings and afternoons to yourself.

We weren't allowed to drink in or off site around Bognor Regis until 6:15pm, but hands up I didn't always follow these rules and neither did many of the workers you just made sure you were out of uniform when doing so.

It was a different world but one that was brilliant. I never got my dream of being a red coat in the end, but still enjoyed my time there and met some wonderful people in the process.

There is Butlins Facebook group if you would like to join to share your story of working at Butlins at:

Reincarnation and time travelling

Hello and welcome to another newsletter post.

It has been heck of week. I never thought I would ever believe in time travelling or reincarnation, but this week with certain things that have happened I do.

Who knows what I would be in my next life, but this week has taught me not take things for granted and be happy with the here and now.

I love my blogging and helps keep my mind at piece, and to communicate to others to help them through this tough time ahead.

Soon everything it looks like will be re-open and we can return to normal.
This lockdown has taken its tole and glad when it is all over.

I have managed to do lots of things like blog everyday, write a few more books and tell my story.

I want my blogs to be honest as possible and true. A blog doesn't have to be an essay but link with people who may be experiencing or going through the same as you.

So keep safe and be true.

Living for each day

Bored Female Girl - Free photo on Pixabay

At the moment I have to say I am a little confused. Boris Johnson has made no sense about the lockdown what so ever.

We can only see one parent at a time. Sorry but what a load of codswallop.

You can go to work but you can't use public transport.

Is it me or is that completely contradictory?

At the moment I am living for each day and am planning a few things hoping like many of us that the, Lockdown will be reduced and soon be able to return to normal.

I am not going to hold my breath but praying.

Hats off to those working for the NHS, food delivery services and TV and radio broadcasters, because they are the ones that are keeping us going, and trying to do that best to keep us still all entertained.

However I still baffled by the Lockdown because I have seen helicopters and they can't do social distancing. They can still pass their germs to one another.

I got to say if it wasn't for my blogs that I am writing everyday, (see my list of sites below) I would be going insane by now.

Please check this lovely video of Micheal Ball singing with Captain Tom Moore and NHS voices of care choir, which did bring a teat to my eye.

Surviving the Lockdown

Boy oh boy has this week gone fast and we are heading for another weekend.

Everybody that I have seen on social media has been doing their own bit to comfort and support people through the lockdown.

Check out this collaboration with lead singer from Coldplay and Gary Barlow:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNctQpSiakc

Who knows when it will end.

The one thing it has made me do is do as much that I possibly can, that I would otherwise would have put aside.

Example: My blog writing, and have written a blog everyday this week.

I am in the process of writing another book and creating my first online course.

I think it is important to do extra bits and support each other through this lockdown.

Lets raise our glasses and remember to clap each Thursday at 8pm to applaud the NHS staff who have been saving people's lives through this Pandemic.

What have you done during this Pandemic to keep yourself busy I would love to hear from you.

The Do's and Don't when building a blog

This weeks thoughts and advice post is going to be about starting a blogpost. I have written a similar blogpost on Bloglovin called Creating a blog but in this blog I am writing is about the do's and don'ts.

1. Don't pay for any domain or to post a blog until you start to built up some traffic and also you may want to change the name of your blog. Once you have built up an audience then pay for a domain and upgrade your site if you wish to

2. Write about what you do know rather what you don't know, as then you have less chance of getting writers block, where you can lose sight of who you are writing to.

3. Keep a list of blogposts you want to write about, I do this using my Notepad on my phone and I write them down in my planner

4. Use sites like Pinterest, Bloglovin, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram to promote your blogposts

5. Have confidence in your writing, because if you don't believe in it, how do you expect someone else to believe in your writing

6. Print off your own business cards and labels, if you are going to be selling items from your blogs, and go to seminars, workshops so you can build a social network by word of mouth

7. If you want to write a book to go with your blog then, learning from what I know now is create an EBook, which you can self publish at no cost through Amazon. Then later create a full book of the subjects you write about.

8. Build up your income for your blogs and keep notes of what you are spending on to help with your blogposts if you are doing hauls, shopping ideas etc

9. Create printables where your audience can download a worksheet, an EBook or even a cheat sheet on various subjects
Check out my these cheat sheets within these two posts below:

10. Create a diary and schedule of when you can post blogs to keep the posting of them consistent, and let your audience know so they are kept in formed and know to look out for it.

Talking about depression

It is another end of another week and I don't know about you but having no school run to do in the mornings as made me lose track of the days.

My thoughts and advice for this week is not to allow things to get to you. It is a working progress. I have been through a bit of a drama and I mentioned in my blogpost Self Confidence- Feel like the ugly duckling, about being back on medication and I am now on anti-depressants.

If you do go down the route of taking medication for depression always ask what the side effects are as there are many. With the one I am on your mouth can get very dry so it is important you drink plenty of water.

It is Quetrapin and I had to take one and then increase to 2 tablets at night before I go to bed.

If you are like me have spouts of depression then you do need to seek support and create which I wrote about in a previous blog a good foundation for yourself, so you can speak to them whenever you feel low.

https://everyonecanbuildacastle.com/2017/01/03/creating-a-foundation-and-following-the-unplanned/

Try not to isolate yourself because this can lead to further depression, causing self sabotage, develop bad habits to avoid the feelings of depression and before you know it, you are back contemplating whether to take that overdose or not.

Please do not go down the spiral and call for help. I have written two other blogs relating feeling suicidal:

https://buildingselfconfidencetud.blogspot.com/2020/04/i-am-now-on-antidepressant-because-my.html

https://buildingselfconfidencetud.blogspot.com/2020/03/feeling-suicidal.html

I am going through a marriage break up and it is tough, as so much as drastically changed now and it can be niggling parasite, but yet at the same time I am kind of relieved as it hadn't been working for a while, so I am ready to make that change in my life, and I have met someone new and so I feel it is time to move on.

Happy Easter

Easter Egg Hunt Clipart

First of all HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE!

It is time for us to have plenty of chocolate and look forward to an Easter Egg, but do we all know what Easter is really about?

Let me tell you, it is about how Jesus was Crucified on a cross because people betrayed him and didn't believe in him, and I think a lot of us can identify with this.

That's why I tell stories in books to get to people to understand that you can use life experiences as an advantage. The birth and the death of Jesus Christ is one of the most famous stories in the world and ones that should be remembered.

There are so many people at the moment who work for the NHS who are doing wonders to save people from the Coronovirus at the moment that it is a strange kind of Easter but doesn't mean we can't still watch the story on TV and spend time having some family time. You can still do an Easter Egg hunt around the home and have a meal together, plus along as not too many of you, go for a long walk.

Why not have a picnic in the garden with some friends and have a champagne lunch or dinner.

So still enjoy Easter the best you can have fabulous weekend!

COVID 19 Virus

It has been a testing time this week with the kids all being off and it this week I want to talk about the COVID 19 virus yes I know probably people just want it to be over and forgotten about, but we can't and many celebrity has it.

I will admit I have been a little ignorant myself as I find these times hard to face so I do tend to berry my head in the sand like many of us do, but it is serious and I do think the NHS staff have done wonders so far and so glad they got their applause last night for all their hard work.

With the COVID 19 it time yes I know it is a pain but to be extra hygienic, wash hands regularly and only pick up things you care going to use, and keep washing your hands after using items and before cooking any food.

Do practice social distancing I have written quite a few blogs this week and two I have written have been 10 Daily Habits of Successful people and self doubt and Being stuck in a rut.

The one thing that I find good at these times is watching some good comedy at the moment I am watching Frasier and I have been watching many episodes of Would I lie to you and I wrote a blog on another site about Comedy being the best medicine and it is. It is great to be able to still laugh whilst in remission if you are, and brings people together still.

The one thing I have to say is that I have a good set of people who I am in contact with that help make me smile and laugh and do feel very lucky, it is terrific to have those with a fantastic sense of humour, and music is also great medicine, and my son and I spent some time dancing in the living room together, and planting in the garden, which has been fun too.

There is so much you can do and why not spend time learning a new skill or do a free course of something you have always wanted to learn.

So I wish you all a fantastic weekend, until then many thanks for reading,

Celebrating Mums in our lives/Here's to motherhood

The Parenting Adventures- Baby to Toddler years

It is Mothers Day on Sunday in the UK and I wanted to share my thoughts and advise on being a mum myself.

Being a mum is tricky there are no real instructions and I will hold my hands up "I don't always get it right" but I try and I do my utmost best to bring up and nurture my son as much as possible, and I struggle on some days, but when my son runs up from being at school pleased to see me, it makes it all worth while.

My mum is my mentor and my confident, and I would be lost without my mum. I know there are those that haven't been so lucky and my heart goes out to them, as when you have that love from your mum there is nothing else like it.

The two people I miss in my life is my dads mum and my mums mum. I loved having nan's and when they died they were like two massive chunks of my life gone and knew when my nanny Florrie died that things would change forever as she was the centre point for everyone at one point, and kept the family together.

Us ladies are special it is amazing what our bodies can do, carry another human being inside and keep them protected, and when your child comes into the world you can miss them sitting in your stomach and growing.
You can feel overwhelmed once they are born, as suddenly you have to take responsibility for this little person and it can be a massive culture shock, but rewarding at the same time.

I would not replace my life now, and my son has taught me about life not the other way around. Seeing the world in his eyes and opened a whole new meaning to life as the world is vulnerable, and life is precious no matter what.

So lets raise our glasses and say Here's To Motherhood.

Many thanks for reading,

Being thankful for the music

My thoughts and advice for this week is about Being thankful for the music, because without it I would feel lost as it is a massive part of my life and has been since I was a kid and was very much influenced by my dad, who loved his music too.

In fact on a Sundays he would spend his mornings cleaning his record collection whilst playing some which would sound out, throughout the house.

I live by my music and the first record I owned was Mirror Mirror by Dollar and I loved it, the melody the tune, and it was in my mind for years, along with the Nolan's In The Mood For Dancing and Fame, Remember My Name.

Then Bucks Fizz who I wanted to be in and  the Nolan's and in fact I would often imagine myself in the outfits and even wanted to be in ABBA aswell.

Then I fell in love with soul music, Motown and Disco music. I then later on discovered rock music through friends and fell in love with Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Aerosmith and I loved since I was a kid Cyndi Lauper who I would loved have dressed like, along with Madonna, Pepsi and Shirley and Bananarama.

George Micheal and Queen I play a lot, along with Elton John, Lionel Richie, Micheal Jackson, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross and then came opera, Andrea Bocelli, Il Divo, Sarah Brightman and many more.

I love musicals one being The Sound of Music, and would give my heart to be like Mary Poppins and being the Top Housewife as a comedian.

There are some special people in this world and they are people who create art singers, comedians and actors, because they take us to a different place in the world when times are tough and takes us out of our unhappiness into still believing whats true in the world.

Music and comedy has helped feed people around the globe through Bob Geldof and that is something to celebrate and so I am thankful for music for helping me in times of sadness and troubles, as without it I'd be lost and through these people that have kept me going thank you as your art is special and will forever will live within my heart.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X

Celebrating World Book Day

My thoughts and advise for this weeks newsletter is about Celebrating World Book Day, celebrating those wonderful stories that so many have written from Harry Potter to Bridget Jones, to Charles Dickens.

Some wonderful tales of the happy and unhappy times. Who can forget The Midnight Garden, with Tom who discovers after he hears the old fashion clock discovers a magical garden.

Then there is Oliver Twist who gets abducted by Fagin, and a Christmas classic a Christmas Carole with scrooge,  bar-humbug.

At my son's school they were celebrating the Jungle Book, which is a classic and tells a story of a young boy who is bought up in the Jungle and looked after by a cuddly brown bear.

Books are wonderful because they take you to a different world and so many films and TV programmes like Lord of the Rings, True Blood and Games of Thrones have all stemmed from someones imagination, or even those wonderful True Stories like Wild. This story is by Cheryl Strayed who took on the Crest Trail in America facing many climates and meeting various types of people on the way.

The greatest thing is that books after everything will never go out of fashion and will always be a fantastic read.

Encourage children to read as it is a wonderful skill and there are so many stories that one will always tell.

Please comment below of your favourite books and what books you celebrated this year I would love to find out.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X

Being happy by creating positive outcomes

My thought of the week and yes I suppose I could add this to my other post Building Self Confidence-The Ugly Duckling, but I wanted to add this thought for the week because this year it has been tough so far and needed to share my thoughts on Being happy and what it is all about for me.

Getting to grips with changes has been difficult and any change that happens I find it hard to adjust, but you have to keep going and do what you believe in, of course not involving people getting hurt, but for the right reasons.

I love life coaching through my posts because even though I suffer with mental health problems, there are days when I am happy and through having psychological help too, has helped me to help you.

Being happy is the key to happiness, and it whatever uplifts you can gives you that energy and buzz.

Everyone no matter who they are wants to be happy, it is in our nature, but life as it is can be a struggle, so if you are battling with mental health and find it hard to be happy, then:

  1. Find something new in your life. We can all do with change and variety is what us humans live on as it can be boring doing the same thing everyday
  2. Practice gratitude, go through what you are grateful for, if you run it could be your legs, if you are doctor it is the ability of saving someones life and looking after people. It can be absolutely anything.
  3. Be brutal with your inner critic and shut it down. Say "No I am going to do this today"
  4. Create a daily habit of listening or reading something that empowers you, and gives you that boost of energy
  5. Make everyday count by planning ahead the night before, because when we leave things to the last minute and stress out this can lead us to being unhappy
  6. Be more productive and create one change a day. I love a daily ritual of taking a shower, washing my hair, creating my daily goals and creating positivity within my day. Even cleaning an area a day can still be a ritual
  7. Be unstoppable by having choice free days so you can spend more time with friends and the people that make you happy
  8. Be true. If you aren't in the mood don't go but do what you want for a change. We can get so caught up in making other people happy, that we forget about ourselves and it isn't being in selfish, we need to make ourselves happy too, to continue to make those happy around us
  9. Stop scrutinization and self sabotage. Check out my EBook about this various subject which I have linked on my website Everyone Can Build a Castle.
  10. Create a new pattern. Life to me when happy is like a work of art, because it is all about creating meaning in your day. A purpose, a reason and with that comes a new pattern to a better wellbeing and positive outcome to your day.

Please remember if you would like to be kept up to date with my blogspot then click the icon below or share if you'd like.

Let me know what thoughts and advice you'd give this week about happiness by commenting below.

Many thanks for reading,
