Off to the Cinema to see the new Bridget Jones Film

My son is away with his school and feel a little lost. It is strange and miss him a lot. He is such a live wire as he loves to be active and play sports. It appears that all the children including my son and he'll be spending time with are enjoying it. I wrote a new blog on my Wordpress site if you'd like to read it: https://theparentingadventuresthebirthofmyson.wordpress.com/2025/03/13/my-sons-last-residential-trip-with-his-primary-school/

Me the Author of this site

I am off soon to see the new Bridget Jones film, Mad About The Boy and read the book, which was a really good read and Renee Zellweger is a brilliant actor. Her English accent is amazing. I love Hugh Grant and is back as Daniel Clever. It is shame about Mark Darcy but she is a bit of a lost soul in some respects and someone who finds it tough being alone and one of the reasons why I love the films is because I can identify with her in many ways.

I have struggled with my weight and never had boyfriends as a teenager and not until adulthood as such. In my twenties I just wanted to enjoy myself and not be tied down. I never had a childhood sweat heart, but at the same time always knew I wanted to get married, how ever much I'd detested at one point, being a bit of misery guts.

With Bridget I feel it empathises how much as women we put so much pressure on ourselves to be a lady that appeals to the opposite sex, by the way we look and size we are. I have a blog site called Building Self Confidence The Ugly Duckling, and talk about my struggles with the way I looked and my body. This stemmed from quite young.

So I a looking forward to seeing the film. I will do a review once seen it but I feel it is going to be as good as the others and wonder if there will be further books. I am writing a few books at the moment myself. I am writing a comedy series and a serious type of book and it isn't easy but rewarding too and learn from books that have had great success.

If you have recommendations on books to read then please share. I love recommendations. Please fill in comment section below and you can also subscribe on this site if you'd like to be notified when I post a book.

I also have three Youtube channels. A Vlog channel, Financial Living and Carries Educational Youtube channel.

Many thanks for reading,

Learning/Building your knowledge and skills

Yes another start to the week. It means getting stuff planned. It means planning dinners and my work on books, blogs and videos and training. I train myself all the time to listen and learn, on different topics I am interested in, that is going to help push me forward to my dreams and aspirations.

I like to learn everyday and so will spend time watching others on Youtube that are already doing the things I want to do and reading books. Seeing other people make a success of their lives is inspiring and that there is plenty of success going around, that I know I am able to also be happy successful in my life.

When it comes to life you have take on risks, and test the water I always say, to see what suits you and if it is what you want to do in your life and learning from experts in that industry, or already doing it, is the best to learn to build you knowledge and understanding.

Going out into working world suited me, as it helped support myself instead of relying on my mum and dad and making money of my own. It was something I could be in charge of and I made mistakes, but that is how you learn aswell in your life, and find your skills you have and it can take many jobs and life experiences that can lead you to do what you want.

My son is doing swimming lessons and he is good at swimming on his front rather than going back, and not an easy skill, and he was scared at first but loves the water now as one point he wouldn't even sit in the bath and so learning everyday and learning new skills each day can do wonders.

I encourage to do self learning if you don't want to do a course with the internet now and books available.

There is Youtube University and Ted Talks, and go to the Careers Service and if you are on benefits then there organizations that offer free courses and I have done a few and if you are under the mental team in the UK there is what is known as the Recovery College.

So lets live and learn, as you be amazed at what you find out.

Many thanks for reading,

A Super Productive Day

So I hope you have all, had a good, Good Friday. I was up early again, check out my previous blogs, where I have written about my new morning habit.

The Kebabs I made last night, which I wrote about in yesterdays blog, were okay but forgot to season and put some oil over them, because they were a little dry. I will learn next time I make them, and that is one thing I would always advise, is never give up and keep trying, and it is a natural human living thing, to make mistakes, that is the only way we learn.

I was doing a lot of planning today for various projects. When it comes to planning projects the one thing I advise is to brainstorm, create a vision board and read books like Atomic Habits, and doing 2 minute habits which following this method, has really helped get things done, and I have started like with getting up early, started to use my Google Calendar again, aswell as using OneNote, my diary and always have my journal and a notepad.

It is so rewarding to be able to tick things off and completing my tasks I set out for the day. I have never been so productive in my life. Yesterday after I took part in doing LinkedIn training updated and changed my details and my profile, and today was planning for my Life Coaching Programme I do each year now, which is the Summer Project 2024, and will be blogs and videos with free resources, to help you have a better life and better year. I will talk about this more as we get near to the start, which is from 1st May to the 31st of August.

If you like to see my previous blogs for my Life Coaching project then you can, they are all on my site: Everyone can build a castle

I also did some Life Coaching training, and worked on my book When Mothers are real which I am editing now and will be published soon, and popped out and got a few bits, my did some home learning with my son, to help reach his targets set out by his teacher at school and made dinner, gave my son a bath and now writing this blog, and will watch a bit of Youtube and then some TV.

So, I won't be posting tomorrow as I don't on Saturdays but will on Sunday, maybe Monday but if not from next Tuesday onwards. So have a good rest of Good Friday, and have a great weekend.

Getting stuff done for a good productive day

Today I think I was scammed again this time ETSY and it was some pens I was selling and thanks to ETSY they who it seemed bought the products on my store have been blocked, and it was some pens I was selling and only had a few things listed and do be careful when using online services and buying goods and selling as twice this year I was scammed, so be aware, and now going to be careful, and made me a little dubious in using ETSY to sell products.

Still a good day though, created my weekly cheat sheets, they are on my blog sites: http://www.everyonecanbuildacastle.com and https://www.theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.com and enjoying making these and helps start my week and days and getting my daily goals completed, but completing tasks towards my goals and making sure my finances were up to date, book editing as I am trying to complete two books now, and check out Mum&Me as this is going to be a series and edited my second book and get the first draft of this book completed and starting a new one, called Behind the eyes of the other woman.

I edited a new vlog on my channel The Typical London Gal and getting my Christmas vlogs uploaded, and tomorrow I am doing some training for a potential outside job I may be doing, will be finding out more. It is good to have eggs in different baskets, because I like to doing various things and get bored easily so to keep me focused is building my knowledge doing different courses and training, to increase my skills and to help create more content, and grow my online community.

My goals are still be created, and this month I am doing No Spend January and have had a few tempting moments to buy what I don't need, and so been creating my list of what I need to buy, like today I bought some batteries for my sons portable CD player I bought him for Christmas, and so really focus on spending less and save more, to pay my credit card debt. Check out my Youtube channel My way of living

So, signing off and hope you all have a good week.

Many thanks for reading,

Getting back into planning to be organized for another year

Happy new year everyone! I have been packing, and sorting out stuff to be put away and now back in Wimbledon, and been a chilled day. I washed my hair and done my skincare for the evening, and worked on book and writing notes and started a new book idea.

I have been planning the year and this week, and week ahead. I feel good in getting set up for the year ahead, and organizing my notes on OneNote, along with my Filofax.

Part of me feels sad to let go of 2023, but you have to just get on with it, as time is never going to stop, so there is nothing we can do about that. I have also getting clothes and items, that my son will need to return to school on Wednesday and choosing his lunches and I got to say that they really are different when to comes to school dinners. They have a real good selection, and wished I could go to his school and have lunch there.

It means that it will be time to plan the year out and update my calendar and my step sister bought me a new one to hang up, and I have began to use my google calendar again, as it easy to put dates that I have to remember using my phone and save paper.

When it comes to planning I like easy assessable systems and nothing that causes me to be overwhelmed. I do like using paper, aswell and is back up should I lose my phone or my laptop doesn't work and still be able to check a physical paper planner/diary.

Check out my Pinterest board on planning: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/thetypicalLondongal/planner-and-notebooks/planning-and-organization/

I have two diaries to use, my Filofax and soft cover diary from my son, that he bought for my birthday, and so will help to plan and get organized.

So, going to enjoy the rest of the day that there is left and then my son is off tomorrow from school being an inset day, so going to take him to the Cinemas to see Wonka.

Have a good week ahead.

Many thanks for reading,

Books I like to read and listen to

It was challenging to get up to day, and yet I slep well. My son wanted to run off with one of my Christmas jumpers and chuck one of my white bras, so was not happy, but forgetting that had a good day.

I wrote a Book Review, https://mybooksandstories.wordpress.com/2023/12/12/book-review-autumn-2023/

This is my new book available on amazon, it will really make you laugh

It is so good to read, and trying to get my son to do some, now he has gone off it, is challenging.

As a baby he found it soothing, and loved a bed time story, which he still often does, but not read the book himself.

If you have any recommendations of books to read, then please share. There is a comment box below.

The books I like are comedy, historical and true stories. I do like some children stories and have partly written a kids book, but still got to get that finished. I had read Harry Potter books and found them so good, and love the films too.

For me what makes a good book, is one that is full of surprises or could be true. I love reading books written around the 40's and 50's, because I find it connects me to my nans and grandads, who were alive then and keeps their memories alive.

I liked books like Bridget Jones, and Devils Wear Prada. I like self help books, but like to listen to these books via audio, and good to test out the books, as there are some I'd like to buy aswell and have the physcal book, and listen to test, to see if it is good or not, and that really helpful in building my knowledge and understanding, of how to look after the mind and creating habits that are substainable.

Example, I am currently listening to Atomic Habits, and like it, but will be buying the paperback, as I'd like to mark the tools that I find helpful and if some of what the author suggests is affective, and many of them have activities, that help with making changes in your life, and live happier, and life you feel good about.

Mel Robbins books the 5 Second Rule and the Hi-five habit, and Tony Robbins are good and have a few in my Library to listen took, and will review once I have started to listen to them, and again if you know of any that you've read that are good, then let me know below.

So going to relax for the evening and see you in another blog tomorrow.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie x

Books and TV and bus drivers

Just thought I had an issue with my creating a new post, but logged out and logged back in and it is fine.

Today I have been on my travels to and from Wimbledon and Epsom, to pick up my sons birthday gifts, but I have one missing. It was a large rugby ball, which was ordered from Amazon. Not gonna stress over it because whats the point? I can buy another one, but just a nuisance because it may not arrive on time.

This is for my sons birthday. He will be 10 years old and want to docunent it, as you never that time back.

I was worried that my son was getting sick, because he had a swollen red cheek, and eye was watering, but today he appears to be fine.

Last night I watched a film called Horrible Histories and is hilarious and want to watch it again. It is taking the micky out of Roman times films and so check it out.

Today on the bus the driver got annoyed because a lady pressed the stop button thinking that was the stop she needed and realised she made a mistake, and was really rude. At the end of the day, it shouldn't matter as people will make that mistake, and its not the end of the world, because someone has done that.

I think some people need to get out of their selves and not get bad tempered when it was an innocent mistake. What do you think? Have you pressed the button on a bus, realising it the next one?

Comment below and share you story. I love interaction and want to talk about different topics and so please give your feedback.

I been listening to my audio book Atomic Habits which is really intteresting and a lot of me I need to listen again to, and going to buy the physical book. Let me know if you have read it and what did you take from it and if you gave recommendation on audiobooks, like these please comment.

So, gonna end blog here, and will be back with another tomorrow.

Many thanks for reading,
