No more strikes/Visiting places in London

So after last week the trains are back up and running and using the train today was good, and they were on time. When things like the trains go on strike it can cause anxiety of "How am I going to get home?" and "Will get to my sons home in Epsom on time". I go over to wait for him to return from school.

My fear is to be stranded and not being able to get home and it is an unnecessary worry, that we shouldn't have, but when there are no trains operating it can cause my anxiousness to increase.

I feel we take it for granted when it comes to certain things like transport as many years ago it was horse and carts and so we are lucky when the trains are operating, to have these options. I do like the steam trains, because my son loves them and so took him on the real Thomas Tank Engine train and on old fashion trains and it is such an experience.

Going on train is a nice change for me as I spend a lot of time travelling by bus, and so good to change my transport up and it a lot quicker and so going to make the most of it, as it is reported that more strikes are going to happen, and buses too, so I hope the issues around the transport we have in London and country gets sorted out.

It would mean I can take Henry on more train rides and visit his favourite place, London Waterloo and I like it too and if you go at the weekend it can be full of stalls and food and book markets and there is often entertainment along the Southbank and is why it is a favourite place for us.

There is a good place to go in Wandsworth called Gravity, and there are Go Carts, an Arcade for children and food and so will inspect more and will film when I do.

There has been a huge development from Battersea onwards and would like to visit it, as when I was last there some parts had already been open and finished, so really want to visit again to see more of what is there now.

So, lets hope the trains keep running and if you know of some good places to visit then let me know in the comments.

The rush hour in a new year

So there is me writing about how quiet it is during the rush hour, I have just walked home from Morden in London to Wimbledon, because the bus was only going as far as Morden and rather than wait for another thought I'd walk it and the roads were super busy, so it depends on the time.

Thankfully I will be getting a lift back with my son tomorrow from Epsom, that is in Surrey, as he spends weekends with me and so only got to do two bus rides or may walk to Morden or a place called Colliers Wood rather than getting two buses. For me every penny counts and I do save my change and if I can cut back on different areas like travel then so be it.

With these strikes we are having here in the UK, perhaps it is best to do more walking, that has been one of my goals and going to stick to it as it really helps keep me stay healthy in body and in the mind.

If you didn't know I am doing No Spend January and if you'd like to watch the video I did as my first one for this challenge, then click on this link here: https://youtu.be/8oFvnmZGZ4s

This has helped me with my money buy using cash rather than card, and giving myself a allowance to spend and has controlled my spending as I am guilty on buying items because of price but not what I really need.

I do have debts and so they are my priority and want to save to take my son on holiday, so I need to be more controlled when buying items and having an income for me to do that and save where ever I can.

So it is time to call it a day and it is Friday tomorrow and still getting over the fact that Christmas has been and gone once again, and now in a new year. It takes me a while to adjust but feel some kind of normality and almost reaching a new weekend.

What a way to start a new year/Strikes and other dilemmas

Happy New year! I really hope you had a good Christmas and new years.

First day of normality back and was it quiet today, I think a lot of people are deciding not to commute, and to be honest I don't blame them. We in the UK are experiencing strikes and this seems to have a massive impact on human behaviour because I suppose it is easier to work from home, and so why commute if noone needs too?

I feel that it is going to take a week to get back to normal, but once again like Lockdown many companies are going to be affected by the quietness of what we call "The rush hour".

This year I feel is going to cause changes in society and I think it will be because of the strikes and the increases of prices and living. How can anyone get on if the strikes are stopping them doing so?

Is anyone really winning because of it? its just causing people to stay at home and not go to the shops and buy online. what's the point in travelling to work, if people are not able to? I have to travel to wait at my son's home for when he returns home from school, and I want to because spending time with my little fella is important to me, and people should be able to travel without this happening.

I do believe that human rights are important but I feel again for the elderly who need care and their loves one not being able to travel to see them and I have noticed this week less cars on the road. This may change and suppose for the climate it is okay, but there are people rely on getting the train to and from work and now may have to spend another probably hour to more to get to and from work, and then I think about taxi drivers. How busy they have become with these strikes because where my son lives they rely on people coming out of train stations.

So lets see what happens and hope that these strikes end and an agreement and people can travel again without the stress, and worrying about being stranded as this can really add to people who already worry a lot and trigger some real negative emotions.

Entering into a new year 2023

Today it is end of another year, and feel the busyness remove its self from me. It has been super productive looking after my son and tried to fit many things to do, like visiting Science Museum, we went swimming and to Wimbledon Park and watched the trains and just making the most of our time together.

I really want to make some changes for 2023 and that means changing my eating habits as they haven't been so good and really work hard to keep myself fit and healthy. I have been struck by a cold and now have an annoying cough, and I know it can be due to my food I intake and I mean types. I have started writing my plans for 2023 and the things I want to get done.

Today I have written two other blogs check them out here: https://everyonecanbuildacastle.com

I want to make sure that I continue to grow as a person and not let fear stop me, like working outside and keep writing and expanding my knowledge and be fully focused on what I would like to achieve for 2023 like I have this year.

Of course I want 2023 to be even better and want me and my son to explore more and take him to different places and continue to have some good fun. I want to help build his knowledge but have really good memories for him to share should he continue to grow and help gain more independence.

It is good to have your kids to have things they want as long as they behave right?

Henry can be super stroppy at the moment, but can be lovely. He finds it hard when he can't have something and so we are reinforcing that he does something good like doing some writing which is not his first love but has to do it, and when he does it, he is rewarded by letting him play and do something he does enjoy.

So I am now going to enjoy the time I have to get some more bits done and would really like to get rid of this cough I have and so got a cup of tea with some honey in it and is going down very nicely.

Have a Happy new year.
