Change your days during a Pandemic/Handling Lockdown

Hello and welcome to a new weekly Newsletter blog of my Thoughts and Advise for the week.

In this blog post I am sharing, Change your days during a Pandemic/handling a lockdown. No I too am looking forward to the end and looking forward to having a pub lunch again, a McDonalds and a Kebab, so needed. I know I could have a Kebab any time, but I do prefer to make my own and sit in the garden. My own garden and that is happening very soon.

I have been changing up my days to keep me going and you can do so too, by doing simple things like, making a day too,

  • Have a ritual each morning, afternoon and evening. This can be having a herbal tea, whilst listening to chill out music, a soak in the tub of an evening with candles and nice bath salts
  • Read a book a day, or do a bit of reading each day. I would love to try and challenge myself if I could read a book a day, as I have seen a young girl do this on her youtube channel and it intrigued me.
  • Go through your wardrobe and mix and match outfits. I like to have a wardrobe where I have a selection of everyday clothes, going out (whenever that may be) and having a good sort through
  • Have an evening of doing puzzles or mindfulness exercises like mindful colouring in books. I love colouring books, and enjoyed doing this with my son, and could be a good bonding time.
  • Create some Arts and Crafts to celebrate Women's month, which is now and read books, as it was World Book day yesterday and watch documentaries about your favourite celebrities, and are true of course.
  • Get ready for Easter and create greeting cards and a Easter Buffet, and create baskets for the day, to give to your love ones.
  • Do a home make over. I like to take my time and making displays, and making them practical and nice looking.
  • If you are looking forward to having a meal in a restaurant and a pub, then why not make your own pub grub or a different meal that you would normally have in a restaurant and again, do this by having an end of Lockdown dinner party.
  • Create a chill out space. For me that is sitting out in the garden doing a bit of work
  • Create a virtue experience. So instead of going for a champagne, meal and theatre show, why not bring it home. All you need is a bottle of champers, a meal and you can get DVD's of some shows on Netflix and they often show some on the Sky Arts channel. I know many things are shut at the moment, but not supermarkets, TV stations or TV shows, so can easily be done.
So don't feel that with lockdown you can't change your habits. Doing rituals can change a hard task into a simple one and, I have made the most of the time to see how I can save money but still do the things I love at home, which is not available at home because of Lockdown.

Days doesn't have to be all about to do lists as such, but creating days where it doesn't feel like it is dragging, and could be a nice break for your kids and you, from Homeschooling as I bet you are at the place like many, taring their hair out praying as much as we love our kids, the days when they will all be returning to school.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X
