Has Social Media Gone Mad

So today listening to the radio someone put on Facebook that the Star Trek Star William Shatner was suffering and battling with cancer which he was not.

It is a good way to keep in touch Facebook and I follow a colleague who I worked with on Epsom Hospital Radio group, but I've seen posts of supposedly false news and it is terrible.

Is anyone monitoring posts on Facebook from Facebook?

I have seen on the platform I use a lot on Youtube, false news like Henry Winkleman had died and he had not.

I find it disturbing and remember people in the public eye should not be targeted by these people who put these false claims up and I have reported a few and think we all need to do that.

I suppose the people who post these false claims are thinking they are being innocent, but no it is wrong. How would they feel?

The conspiracy made on social media, of Princess of Wales and she had to explain herself because she was seeking treatment for cancer and these people who cause controversy would not leave it alone.

Yes we pay for them, the Royal Family and there are have been a lot of bad press harming the reputation of the Monarchy, but Princess of Wales would not hurt a fly. She is loyal, caring, a wonderful mother and has done her duty and deserves respect and left alone. Remember she has children and she has to think of them and her side of the family and it was just wrong.

It can be a good thing but you always get people who ruin it for their selfishness and I suppose they get attention good or bad, but I just wonder if they would show their faces? Would they say their claims on camera?

I think certain heads of countries should not be using it to cause publicity and if I did that working at a call center  I would have been sacked and feel that it is unprofessional and not helping the reputation of social media.

I feel that it is good for charities, promoting events and like me content creators and to keep in touch with friends and family you don't always see and what they are up to and well and not to discuss wars and what other countries are doing and that is what the News is for not for social media.

So' what is your opinion? You can leave a comment below.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X
